Jean Francois Niquette
Jean François Niquette’s long journey from his native Quebec, Canada was paved with frequent flyer miles. It was professional travel that brought him from Canada to the U.S., having majored in college in tourism and hotel management, and spending his early career with leisure industry leaders including CP Hotels (now Fairmont) Hard Rock Cafe International, and the Quebec Tourism Board.
His hard work with Hard Rock International earned him a senior position in Miami, where he met his future Whitley’s partner Arron Rimpley, and where he began his long and pleasurable professional experience in the decorative and fine arts, working closely with international buyers with very specific tastes and requirements.
Jean François’s success in exceeding the expectations of international travelers lent itself to building strong relationships with collectors: relationships founded on trust and paying attention to the details to help them find the perfect pieces for their collections.
Many of his collectors consider him family, a feeling that is reciprocated, and their invitations to weddings, baptisms, anniversaries, and other important events stands as living testimony to the strength of those friendships forged in the world of collecting.
For Jean François, the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing he’s making a happy impact every day: “People choose us to consign their collections because they know we have spent the last 30 years establishing an international network of buyers who respect our expertise and trust us to find collectibles and objects of beauty that speak to them as individuals.”
