REGISTER TO LEAVE BIDS ONLINE
Your absentee bid should be the maximum amount that you are willing to bid. The auctioneer will bid competitively for you up to that amount, meaning that you could potentially end up winning your lot for less than your absentee bid price.
All absentee bids should be submitted no later than one hour prior to the auction start time.

HOW TO USE ABSENTEE BID FORM
You may download the Absentee Bid Form and print it out, or pick up a copy at the auction desk at any Whitley’s auction preview. Either fill out and submit the form while at the preview, or fax it back at least twenty-four hours before the start of the sale. You will be required to fill in your name, contact information, the sale title and sale date, the lot numbers, descriptions and bid prices you wish to execute. If you are a returning customer, we ask that you provide your customer number.

LIVE FROM THE AUCTION FLOOR!
Nothing beats the thrill and drama of taking part in a live auction. To bid in person, you should to arrive in enough time to register and receive a paddle number before the lots you are interested are offered. If it is your first time bidding with Whitley’s, please bring a form of picture identification, such as a passport or driver’s license.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS | PLAN YOUR VISIT
RegistrationRegistration usually opens 30 minutes prior to the start of the auction. Visit our Registration Desk to register and receive a paddle number. You are then welcome to take a seat in the auction gallery.
The auction will begin when the auctioneer asks for an opening bid on the first lot. Bidding proceeds according to Whitley’s standard increments, or at the auctioneer’s discretion. The auctioneer will accept bids from the floor, the telephones, internet and absentee bids, also referred to as left bids or order bids.
Each lot in the auction catalog will be presented in order, and the pace of bidding can be as much as 100 lots per hour. Estimate your time accordingly and plan to be here at least ten lots before your item of interest comes up for bid.
When your lot does come up, be prepared to raise your paddle. The auctioneer will accept your competitive bids along with all others until the final hammer price is reached and the auctioneer announces, “sold.”
